Suitable ages for toys,

emmie by emmie Talking Back(June 2007) (rank 27th)

4 months ; a rattle would be an ideal toy for a baby this young, bricks also are good for a baby this age but must be the large bricks so they don t put them in mouth and swallow them.

18 months; This is about  the right time

to introduce playdough, plastercine, pens , pencils , etc. As it helps them to use their imagination. Pretend cooking is also a good imagination game.

2 and half yrs; i think this is a brilliant age to get children to start putting together carboard models using cereal boxes toilet roll tubes etc also helps their imagination.

Once its time to wind down ready for bed maybe it would be nice to watch a bit of television with the children for family time.

Most children enjoy dressing up but you should supervise this as the child could get an item caught round their neck and strangle theirselves.Playing with water can also be fun but i tend to keep this outside as everything tends to get wetwith all the exitement .
