Babies in Plaster

lisasmith140483 by lisasmith140483 Talking(June 2007) (rank 206th)
I would just like to offer a little tip to mums who have babies in plaster! if you have to remove the plaster yourself you would know to put the baby in a baby bath with water Right? well if you add a little bit of vinegar to the water it will help to disolve the plaster there for reducing all that crying and pulling and soaking. Always check the water forst to make sure its not too acidic so it doesnt sting any skin conditiona your baby has but it does help.. Good luck

Re: Babies in Plaster
Hi
Well I'll be blowed
They say it is a bad day when you don't learn something new.
Wish I had known about this when the doctor replastered my husbands wrist saying that it couldn't be fixed after only 4 weeks even though the xray said it was.
Calmag is a wonderful healing vitamin for broken bones.
He would not be in the pain he is in now 3 years later.
Would have come in handy when plastering the animals legs too when we were on the property lol

Hmm interesting thought for party joke hehehe
Luv Deb

Hi there

Thanks for the tip although I've never heard of parents being asked to remove their own child's plaster . . .

Cheers Kellz

Re: Babies in Plaster
hello kellz my boy was born with club feet and with most babies born with this ( where we are anyway) they have serial casting for 6 weeks-6 months, when they put the plaster on they put a little nob of plaster at the end and the mum or dad soaks it off a few hours before the next physio session so that the baby can have a bath and some free time before the next plaster goes on and it also saves very young babies the truama of the plaster saw! have a good one
