I am in need of some fun baby shower ideas. I don't want to throw the same old shower. I want something fun and different. Any ideas?
Here are some fun things to try if you're planning a baby shower.
Create a "Moms Know Best" Book.
Ask each guest to write down their best piece of parenting advice for the expectant mom.
Take a picture of each guest as they arrive. Tell them to have fun. Smile, make a silly face, or just pose. Once the picture has developed, tape it to a page in your memory book. Have your guest write down a few words of wisdom for the mommy-to-be. Again, have fun. Don't think too long. "Things like, "Don't be afraid to ask for help," or "Do one thing for yourself everyday," are just what a new mom needs to hear. Then, tell your guests to decorate their page with some cute stickers. You can find tons of great stickers at any craft store in the scrapbook section. Who wants to stare at a boring white page anyway? When all the guests have finished, tie a ribbon around the book and viola! A beautiful book made with lots of love.
Baby's First Piggy Bank
Bring a ceramic piggy bank to the shower and have each guest decorate it. You can also ask them to empty their pockets and put the spare change in the bank.
Baby Book Library
Have each guest bring a copy of their favorite children's book to the shower. Make sure to include a reminder in each invitation. You can pick up a few oversized baskets to display the books as each person arrives. You can also ask guests to write a little note to the baby, why you chose this book or a favorite memory of his/her new mommy.
