First of all, thanks so much for the comments and interest generated form Part I. I guess you kind of take it all for granted after you have lived somewhere for a while, and you have all helped me appreciate my time here more.
Giraffe Center
Is an amazing place, where you can hand feed the Giraffes, only 15mins from town! A platform has been built on the outskirts of Nairobi National Park, where you can climb the stairs to be face to face with the Giraffes. Great photo opportunities here! The kids love it. The first time I took Jaz she was only 10months old and she has loved it ever since. She also hand feeds them. The Giraffes are very gentle and very used to being hand fed. The staff provide the feed pellets. Its lovely, I never thought I would ever be so close to a Giraffe.
Lake Naivasha
Definitely the place to go if you love Hippos like I do! There is the Beautiful Naivasha Country Club where you can stop for Lunch or Afternoon Tea or even spend the night in one of the cottages that are dotted around the landscaped gardens. Here you will see an Abundance of animals. There are daily boat trips around the lake where you can get scarily close to humungous Hippopotamuses! I can’t explain how special it is see animals like this in their own environment.
Lake Bogoria is not often visited by tourists but it is stunning. Lake Bogoria is a soda lake. The Lake is very rich in Mineral Salts and gorws blue-green algae, which the flamingos love. From a distance the Lake appears to be pink all over due to millions of Flamingos. There are also numerous boiling springs and steam geysers which spout and steam. You can actually see the water boiling. Unfortunately some of the birds get a little too close and die but mostly they know to steer clear. We saw some of the local kids boiling eggs in the water!
Thompson Falls
Amazingly beautiful, surrounded by lush tea plantations this is huge waterfall. Situated at the base of the Aberdare Ranges and 7800 feet above sea level. The Waterfall is 75meters high and the water crashes into the gorge onto huge boulders at the bottom, its beautiful see.
There is soo much to see here and after 5years i still have more to do!
