I am sorry that you are feeling a bit down about being voted down for writing Q & A in advice etc.  The best thing to do is to remember that if you have a question, post it in Q & A.  If you have something general to say, post it in your personal blog, or if you have something more specific, post it in the appropriate group blog.

The best advice about what should be posted in this section of Minti is Rachel Cook's Minti's Editorial Guidelines.  I highly recommend that everyone reads this before they post any advice.  It also provides links to a wide range of similar articles to help you to write great advice to share with us.  It is important that when people are seeking advice, that they find it quickly and easily, without having to sift through questions and blogs.

In regard to voting, when people vote, they are not voting on you as a person.  The votes are to rank the quality of an advice article or comment that is made.  People are then able to easily access the information that users have deemed to be most informative, helpful, and interesting etc.  I have written more on this in my own article about how rewarding writing advice can be if you want to check it out - go here.

Yes i know it hard as a new comer but i was a bit the same not sure if i was writing the right thing or not. Don't let it worry you and write what you think if other people don't like it and dont' vote stiff. I had 5 in a row with no stars, you can't please everyone but stick with it and enjoy the freindship of other people all over australia and other places

 Hi,Well said.Yes ,I am for one if you dont have a positive comment most times you are best to say nothing at all.And most of the time I vote 5 stars or dont vote at all.and especially if it is not relevant to me if it  is not relevant  to me I dont bother voting at all or commenting at all but not in any nasty way i just think why comment or vote on something that is not relevant to me .

you are right on saying this Mandy .dont worry its only a small amount of people that do do this ,,

i think some people seem to forget  the whole reason why they first joined up on this site and end up trying to be the judge and jury instead of being helpful , this happends  as sad as it in in many situations in life .some people do have foot in mouth disease ...but as hermy said its just the minority , we all live and learn in life just some people seem to forget what it was like for them ...Dont let the small things in life knock you down . xxxxxx we are all small fish in this big world of ours....xxxxx
