Constipation? Here's a recipe to try

Cedes by Cedes Speaking(July 2007) (rank 335th)

There's a real sneaky way to get prune juice into your little one. Cook up some Oat bran with milk, (Home brand takes less than 2 minutes) add 2 scoops of formula (if he's lactose intolerant use lactose free formula) put in a teaspoon of brown sugar, a capful of

Queen's NATURAL vanilla, (it's very sweet) and 30-60ml of Bickford's Prune Juice. Using a whisk, stir constantly until smooth and creamy.  Mash a half a banana into a bowl while the oat bran is cooking. Add half a tub of vanilla yoghurt. (The mashed banana is just for a yummier taste, and although bananas are generally used to bind up, they are okay if you take off the little strings).  Spoon the oat bran mixture on top of the mashed banana and yoghurt and mix well.  Let it cool for a few minutes and watch him tuck right in. Mmmmm. Prune juice surprise! My son hasn't had a constipation problem since.

Sounds good.  Will keep in mind for those "hard" days.

This is very interesting - it sounds way too yummy not to try just for the heck of it (minus the prune juice of course).  Yummo yummo.  Is prune juice the only active ingredient, or do some of the others assist it too?
