Poem - Shadows of Loss

In the shadows of despair, I walk through the world without a care. The memories of you still linger everyday, I cannot understand why you were taken away.  Agony and sorrow fill my heart, as I ponder all the things that were left unsaid before your abrupt depart.  I

carry the burden throughout my life, as I try to go on and hide my grief and strife. No one knows the depth of despair, until their loved one is no longer there.  The heart will try to slowly repair, but the hole inside remains an empty space, in which nothing can replace.  Time it's true makes the days a little brighter and the load I carry seem a bit lighter. I no longer cry at the sound of your name, or feel like I'm sometimes going insane.  The love and the memories are all I have to help me sustain, and I know that's all of you that remains.  I love and miss you, my little brother, and know that one day we will again see one another.
