babies

Anonymous Author (July 2007)

Babies are ages 0-12mths.They are really cute but times can be difficult. Here i will go through each month of the journey.I will do an A-I

At home:For the first couple of months you will probably be at home most of the time but if you do go out don't

forget pram, nappy bag, bottles, nappies, bibs, wipes, blankets, toys, clothes and of course the baby.

Banana:Banana is a great first food but make sure you blend it.

Clothes: You will need to change babies clothes every 1 day as they dribble, sick, crawling in dirt and you name it.

Dummies:I would recommend a dummy but if you are apprehensive don't worry,it is just who you are.You will need to wash it daily as well.

Egg:Remember don't give babies egg in the first year, you can introduce it when they are 12mths.

Farts:Do you know that babies fart? The baby might even laugh when they do one.

Gums:Babies don't have any teeth.They have gums.

Hmm:Do you think this Hmm.What am i going to do today.Sit them in the bouncer,go for a walk, there are heaps of things.

Ink:Keep your baby away from pens.it is not very good for them and might be sick.

Re: babies
I wouldn't recommend bananas as they tend to give a baby tummy ache and wind... well it did with my two. Neither of my girls had a dummy, I figure if a baby is never given one they'll never miss or need it. I know there are some cases where it may be a medical requirement. It's a parents choice however I wouldn't recommend it. You will find you may go through alot more then 1 outfit a day...

Re: babies
I agree about the dummy.  If they're never given one, they'll never look for one.  I hate dummies.  They make life so much more difficult for parents and I would ONLY recommend them for an unsettled baby.  Out of all the babies I've ever come across, there are only 2 that I would have recommended them to but the mums beat me.  One turned out to be autistic and had his until he was 2.  His 2 siblings never had one.  The other one needed one for the first 6 months then was weaned off it.  He was very unsettled and a screamer.  He's now 18 months and hasn't had it since he was about 9 months old.  As with bananas, it never affected mine but she didn't have much of it.  She'd only have a tiny bit when I made fruit salad.  I would use 1 banana, 1 pear, 2 apples, and 1 mango.  Mix them all together and freeze them into about 25 portions.  She only had fruit salad maybe once a week since I liked to give a lot of variety.  It was given to her after her lunch so she never really needed much.  She also had apple or pear in her rice cereal in the morning.  I agree about the outfit too! I was changing her at least twice a day for the first few months, then after every meal once solids started. Bibs did nothing to protect her clothes! pmsl

Re: babies

I think this advice is very good and I also think that if we didn't have health care professionals to give us guidelines on what we should and should not feed our babies then we would have many dead babies due to allergic food reactions that little babies are just not able to survive.

Re: babies
The reason they suggest not to give eggs so early is due to possible allergies.. I think egg whites are ok and the yolk they say to hold off..  You would want to check into that one...

Re: babies
i gave my daughter egg at 6 weeks of age....
it was one of her first solids! she loved it!
I don't think health organisations should tell parents what to give and what not to give babies or children....as all babies are different and will respond differently to different things!
This was ok advice!
