Finger foods for toddlers

Kric by Kric Speaking(July 2006) (rank 495th)

Hi, I always gave my kids toast that I cut up in strips. We called them toast soldiers. They are easy for them to grip and you can put whatever you want on them. Kids love them. Also they always enjoyed arrowroot baby cookies. I believe you can get them

in different shapes and sizes now that make it easier for them to hold as well. Another idea is to cut an apple up in strips too. They can dip them into some yogurt or anything similar. This can be done with a variety of fruits and veggies.

Hope this helps a bit. Good luck!

My daughter will not eat soft are mushy things. Can anyone give me some good finger moods for toddlers?

Some suggestions
What about steaming some veggies as snacks and steam them just enough so they are not mushy. What about a carrot cut it into sticks and just cook it enough that it is safe for your child. I am not sure how old your child is. Plain rice cakes, cheese. Have you tried french toast sticks? My kids love that. Hope the suggestions help.

Bread is versitile.

If you have children that won't eat the crust.

By some good biscuit cutters and you can make flowers sandwichs.

Both of my children are strange I would cut their fruit and they would prefer it whole.

Each to their own.

finger foods

I think that sounds good. I will have to keep that in mind for when Cadence gets a little older and is able to eat finger foods..

Thanks!!

Independent eaters
My two boys like finger foods too - they want to feed themselves, but stuff on spoons is generally a disgusting mess, so finger foods keep everyone happy.

At the moment they are having things like pasta shapes (no sauce) with cooked peas and cubes of cheese, they can do it all themselves with their fingers. Carrot sticks are also popular. And tinned pineapple is also a winner in our house...
