blanket kicking kids

winja by winja Talking Back(July 2007) (rank 58th)
hi guys,
just fixed a prob that ive had and thought id share it with everyone in case they r in the same boat.
my lil precious one has had a few probs this cold cold winter in tas! brrrrrr!
her problem is she is a blankie kicker, has
been her entire life unfortunatly
she goes to bed no probs, sleep no probs, i check on her b4 bed pull her blankets up doona up then i go off to bed i leave the heater on low in the hall........sleeeeeep.
then she wakes up middle of the night cold, cant seem to warm up and ends up snuggling next to pregnant me who wakes up every 2 hours to pee, sob.
this ends up neither of us getting a good nights sleep and thought of moving to queensland on the top of my list every morning.

ok well heres how i fixed my lil prob when chloe was little i used the sleepsuits they have for babies on her so she slept thru the night, changing nappies was never a prob because i could unzip change bottom and zip back up without her loosing much body heat good for us! once she grew out of them i tried to use normal sleeping bags but they didnt help she would wriggle out the top in her sleep and we were back in our nightime fun.

i have found a sleepsuit/ pjs with feet in chloes size! hooray! i found them at myer and a shop called the mullberry bush they go up to size 9 as far as i could see they may have bigger sizes.
chloe loves them! they are warm and cotton lined and i think they are super cute, they are quite expensive mine were about 50 dollars but the result? chloe has slept thru every single night since buying them!

so my opinion is they are gold!

Re: blanket kicking kids
Ive got similar ones its called Snugtime either at David Jones and myers may have them. There about the same price. My daughter sleeps in them as she is too a blanket kicker and these are low fire danger.

Worth the price, Love Kelly

Re: blanket kicking kids
great advise and i agree with kelz with her comment you can buy them cheaper at best and less.,, Other retail  stores have them as well... also shop aroun at second hand shops, its amazing what people donate at these places...'

I would have being lost without mine when they were little, now that they are bigger, they sometimes go to bed with their sleeping bags ....

Re: blanket kicking kids
Hi honey,

Great advice, but Myer (ouch for price) . . .  Best 'n'Less has them too . . ..  I just brought some for my 8rd old . .  As you are right the cold in TAS atm is freezing . . . . .  I also brought a fitted shepskin bed cover for my daughter 's bed . . . . . Works like a charm . .

Cheers Kellz

Re: blanket kicking kids
This is gold - we struggle with Jaydee too, and he won't sleep in a bag, as he likes to scoot around all over the place in his sleep.  He especially likes freedom to move his legs.  We have him in little bonds size 2 short jump suits for underwear at night, however to get him in some of these good old fashioned pyjamas with the feet and everything would  be great.   (The other day he hid his slippers and booties from me, and he always takes off his socks - so I put him down for a nap with his gumboots on.  (I cleaned them first), he thought it was hilarious, and didn't want to take them off for the rest of  the day.
