more milk for the twins

bowdown2lild by bowdown2lild Walking(July 2007) (rank 500+)
as a new mom, i was worring about not producing enough milk for my twins....my lacation nurse kept saying it is all about supply and demand, but yet i noticed that they were still hungry and they are too young for rice cereal....after much research on the internet i found an
herb called "fenugreek" it comes anywhere from 580-620 mg i take 2-3 capsules 3 times a day and it worked for me like a day later, but you have to be very careful if you are diabetic like me cause it lowers the blood glucose levels so i had to make sure i had something to eat near by.......i have heard that fenugreek is not easy to find but i found it in a very easily in a small natural herb store it cost me $11.99, but it is very well worth it

I'm glad you found something that worked for you and your babies.  Although I never had a problem feeding, I couldn't express more then a few mLs at a time so it may have helped with that too.

If it works, then let everyone know about it like you have. Great advice.

Brewers yeast is another one and there are some medications like maxalon and something starting with D that can help.
if you need some more help you might like to try contacting a breastfeeding counsellor at La Leche League.

Want To Produce More Milk
I have an 11 week old girl who always seems hungry, even though she is constantly on the breast.  I too have read an article about fenugreek in the last couple of days.  In fact, my partner found a very interesting article and I think I should share it with everyone. www.breastfeeding.asn.au/bfinfo/galact.html

I want to produce enough to supply the whole family's demands but I think that would be a big ask.

Happy twin feeding.
Arna
