How to win a robot vacuum cleaner

Considering by Considering Talking Back(July 2006) (rank 51st)

**A public service announcement from the promoter's agency**

OK so this isn't exactly what should be constituted as parenting advice but thought it would be a good way to explain how minti's cool new competition works.

Firstly it has nothing to do with how high you are

ranked or whether you sign-up 5,000 times under different names. Its all about "K-wality" my friend. Quite simply Minti is looking for folks that write sound advice, vote on articles, keep a blog, refer friends and generally stay active in the community for the next few months. Everyone can enter but only 'real' minti members have a shot at the prize.

Secondly, if you've already been really active then that counts too, Minti values its current members, but don't sit back...you'll need to stay on your game to have a good chance.

Finally, having an unbelieveably messy house, with dirty floors and excess dog hair may make the minti folks feel sorry for you. So post some pics of just how disgusting your floors look and we'll take that into consideration too

Re: How to win a robot vacuum cleaner
I love the idea as I have poor health and have to vac daily due to my and my boys dust allergies. Try keeping a 7 year olds room dust free!!! yeah right ......especially with train track and cars on the floor!! ahahahahaha

Re: How to win a robot vacuum cleaner
This has been one of the cutest discusions I have read!  I am in the pet hair group!  Our dog likes to lean on the couch and walls as she walks by to help knock off any stray hairs!  Maybe I can rub the kids on the couch instead of giving them a bath daily! LOLOLOL!!!

Re: How to win a robot vacuum cleaner

I think that all houses should come with a Robot Vac as a standard feature LOL xx

Would come in handy since my floor cleaner went on strike, she said that she has more important things to do.....

Re: How to win a robot vacuum cleaner

I have polished floor boards, but gee whiz, do they attract the dust easy. Wouldn't mind having one of these to save time.

Re: How to win a robot vacuum cleaner
How cool... If you check my pix, you will see I am into child labour - Jaydee loves to vacuum... Unfortunately, he is not quite as efficient at it as he is at making a massive mess - neither does he like it if you attempt to 'help' him.  Like some of my esteemed minti mad members below - I generally try NOT to let our floor be photographed... For this, I will make an exception - cheers.

I have a vacuume fettish
I have a problem where I can't help but buy vacuume cleaners so a Roomba is certainly on the list.
I have used robot vacuumes in the past and they are great for multi tasking I will be wrapped when I find one that lasts longer than 12 months. If I win one everyone will hear about it.

Must have done something right!
Hrs2004 deserves it not because of the state of her floors but because she is a great contributor on minti. As for me, I still have no idea how I won. Maybe they can see that my house has suffered due to my activty on minti!
Spring cleaning is happening as of today (even if its just so the Roomba can do its job!)

THe state of my floors...

How about the fact that Leala (2 1/4) has resorted to her own dustpan and brush to clean up the mess, 'cos I never seem to get round to it (I'm always on here)! It's safe to say, though, that a robot would do a better job, I think!
