scam

stacey79 by stacey79 Talking Back(July 2007) (rank 98th)
i know this isnt parenting advice but i wanted to let people know about this one i get about 5 a day in my email account and if i didnt know better i would have fallen for it. CONGRATULATIONS We are hereby happy to inform you that you emerge as one
of the winners in the lucky pick of email address on the web. The cheque won is used as a compensation to the numerous internet users, and gotten from the non-claims of winning check of last years lotto winners in the UK lottery international promotions. To that effect, We had to organise a lucky dip of all e-mail addresses on the web and sectioned them into zones such as the europe, asia, america, africa and the rest. Under these zones are the regions e.g under europe, we have london ireland, scotland, holland and e.t.c. same applies to every other zone. So to that effect, your winning fell under the african zone and west african region. So therefore, your winning had been sent down to the compensation agent in charge of that region in the person of Mr FRED DAVES. You will have to make contact with him, and follow due procedures to effect the claims of your package which contains a winning check of $200,000dollars(USD) for your prompt claims. COMPENSATION AND FINANCE HOUSE HEAD OFFICE Finance and Security House United Kingdom Deposit Firm FSH Towers Chelsea T45H U.K. At the moment, I am very busy at Sydney,Australia because of numerous assignments which I have to carry out. To that effect, I dont think you will have the opprtunity of communicating with me anymore. All you need do is reach the compensation agent Mr FRED DAVES through this e-mail address: info_com_office5@yahoo.dk Finally, remember that I have forwarded instruction to the Mr FRED DAVES at the finance house on your behalf to send the bank draft to you as soon as you contact him without delay. Please I will like you to accept this token with good faith. Thanks and God bless you and your family. However, I want you to contact him immediately as soon as you receive this because he will be leaving soon on a very long vacation as he didnt have any for the past three years due to over time. My sincere advice to you as a christian is that you should endeavour to pay your tithe to a bible believing church when you get winning check . We require your informations to facilitate the your claims: 1. Full Names: 2. Residential Address: 3. Phone Number: 4. Fax Number: 5. Occupation: 6. Sex: 7. Age : 8. Nationality: 9. Present Country: Yours Faithfully Mr JAMES Compensation Officer please be carefull i wouldnt want this to happen to anyone on here

Re: Why are all votes 5-star these days?

This is NOT directed at you Stacey79 as I believe you do excellent work on this site but I want to comment on this article and the general trend of ranking I have seen lately on Minti, this is as good an article as any to start with.

I think most people have experience with these and this barely qualifies as parenting advice, yet for some reason it has an average score of nearly 5-stars.  Are people no longer willing to score any article anything but 5-stars?

People do NOT lose rank from having less than a 5-star vote, you should never be concerned about the quality of your article unless it is averaging less than 2-3-stars, in which case you may want to remove it.

There is a very substantial risk to everyone voting 5-stars on everything they see, the quality of the site will decline more and more as articles which are good but not outstanding start to bounce up above articles which really are outstanding in terms of the quality measures and the relevance in search results.

I would like to ask all members to please vote for what an article truely deserves and not just click 5-stars in fear of reprisals for anythign less or simply because you are friends with the author.  The site will be a much better place for all if you vote in a range of stars and not only giving 5-stars every time, really look for something outstanding before you vote please.

Once again this is NOT about Stacey79 - it is about a general concern I have with Minti voting lately and this is as good a place as any to voice my concern.

Re: Why are all votes 5-star these days?

It is true, I feel as though some people vote based on friendship or fear. I myself feel like if i voted someone less then 5 that it would be looked upon as me being "bitchy"

Some times its hard for people to take constructive critism with out being offended. and yes it makes this site look bad if poorly written articles are voted as 5 out of 5...
