What helped our reflux.

sarahkate2202 by sarahkate2202 Speaking(July 2007) (rank 243rd)
Levi is known as a happy vommit baby. Will smile and vommit at the same time. The reflux didnt bother him too much during the day, though at night he would become unsettled with it. I was more the one more bothered and fusterated. Levi would feed every two hours because
he would vommit most of what he had, and that ment he was hungry a large percent of the time. Thankfully he was and is still putting weight on. We tired many things, and the doctor told us that the medication would more or less only stop the acid burning his ospehagus, but since he was a happy vommit baby that this wasnt happening and wouldnt help. The health nurse advised us that the kids chiro may help, but this also didnt work. Thankfully  a little jar costing 14 dollars has brought back my sanity, Karicare food thickner. if breast feeding you add it to a little water and feed it to your baby, pre, mid, or after a feed, and wow much less vommiting. still there is a small vommit but nothing like before. Not the projectile fill half a glass vommit. (You can otherwise add it to formula) So I hope that anyone reading this may get some relief as we did using this product. thanks for reading what helped me I hope it helps someone else aswell.

Re: What helped our reflux.

When my twins suffered from reflux, the first course of action was the medication, zantac. Then I was told that if it didn't work, we would try to thicken the formula. At the time I was hoping not to go the 2nd route as I was breastfeeding. But thankfully the medication worked.

I'm so glad this worked for you! Reflux on infants is just a terrible thing. There are babies suffering with the worst kind who end up not wanting to eat all. It's just terrible.

My daughter is only a prescription formula as well as a medication called Losec and she is also backed up with Mylanta . .

Sadly for us thickener's didn't work  but I'm glad they did with you . . .

Cheers Kellz

our kids took zantac, and preferred to be held upright and away from us, for most of the time.
