Bath Frequency

pfallerj by pfallerj Proud Parent(July 2006) (rank 12th)

Today's Tip - You don't have to bathe your infant every day

If they aren't moving around, getting into dirt and rolling in the mud, you probably don't have to bathe your baby every day. Actually, too much soap can dry out their skin. We bathe ours every

other day...he could probably go longer, but he just loves splashing around in his bath so much. As long as you keep their hands, face and rear end clean with soap and water, the rest of them can go a few days. That's assuming they don't get food spilled on them or sweat up a storm, too.

evry other day
I was also told that a bath evry day isnt good for your child's skin.  However, during the summer or when you put suntan lotion on them or if they go swimming, it is better to get them clean than having them sit in it the lotion, salt or chlorine for 2 days.

Every Other Day, I agree!

I agree. I was told that it was a bad idea to bath your baby everyday. I did it every other day from the begining. When it's hot out though mind you, I give her a bath every day. All I do is wet her down, but when it's really her bath time, is when i wash her entire body!!

You really do write some good advice. Thank you for that
