Summer time %100 Natural NO-Bake Snack Blues NO PROBLEM Poof!!! There's ICES, ICE CREAM, SORBET OH MY

eteachey by eteachey Speaking(August 2007) (rank 500+)
Two years ago I received and Ice Cream Machine as a gift and my son and I have had so much fun with it since then.

I love to bake and when summer comes around there's no way I am turning on the oven TOO HOT!!! I wanted
to figure out a way that I could give my son a snack on a hot day that he could help me with and he would enjoy making/eating...Then it hit me an Ice Cream Machine would be perfect, no one ever said what needed to be made with it had to be high fat, high sugar treats....So I put it on my wish list and got it as a gift a few months later.  I never thought he and I would enjoy it so much and the science of the liquids turning into solids right before his eyes is a bonus for him & I...

Looking at the recipes that came in the book everything was High FAT [i.e....Heavy Cream, Whole Milk, Egg's (unless you are making Philadelphia style)] I have cholesterol problems, let alone the fact that I did not want my children to eat things that were not good for them...I got disheartened by it...But then I thought to myself, why did I have to stay with the high fats I could use Half & Half & Skim milk instead, Chocolate Syrup as opposed to Melted Chocolates, and so on, so I made it the healthier way and my son ate it up and loved it, not even caring that it was not the full fat version from the super market  + the bonus was he got to make it right along with me...

I love the fact that in 1/2 hr I can whip up a Ice treat for him that is all natural full of fruits [and if you have a juicer throw in a veggie or two, its 100% fruit/veggie juice ] and you have an "pop" that can't hold a candle to those bulk frozen sugar loaded "Ices" that have no more then %5 fruit juice if that much...Plus they taste GREAT...The taste is so naturally sweet and "powerful" that my son even though he sees what is going into it and often does it himself still thinks hes getting away with "junk food" .  When his friends come over we all have fun and they get a great snack that has no preservatives or added colorants & ingredients.  Parents are always asking me where I got it and how they can get one...

I have brought the machine to my son's class and had all the kids join in in making the treat too.  They loved it plus its a great learning experience.  I got begged to come back by teachers & students alike and even though my son does not go to that school anymore the teachers still ask me to come in and give a demonstration...

Its a great hands on, NO OVEN [no heat], HEALTHY [yes I know that depends on what you make], fun, any time of year, snack that TASTES GREAT and kids love.. What can be wrong with that...

Yummy!!  It is on my wish list, though as it is not essential at the moment I am biding my time and saving for other things - maybe next years birthday gift for E ... lol she loves helping in the kitchen.  Thanks for this advice.  I knew they were good, but had no idea they were that much fun!!!  And I love the idea of taking it into school ...

Peace

Yummo, sounds great.  There are so many fresh fruity things that you can make for the kids that are nice and healthy.  Not mention awesome things like strawberry and banana daquiris for the adults to cool down with in the evening when littlies are in bed!

Sounds like so much fun. Sadly I just gave my machine away as I could never get it to do what it claimed it would. . . . . Oh well.
