"Organizing Money To Pay Your Bills"
Some of you may find this funny, ( if you do,that's good,... laughter is good for the soul).....But i thought I'd share with you, how i have money to pay the bills. I know alot of people these days, pay
the bills by credit card, then pay the credit card. Well i suppose i'm from the old school, i like to know that i have the money to pay the bills when they come in.
I have envelopes to which i put a certain amount in each week.
e.g. Clothes.......Golf (for my husband's games)..........Car Registration........Medical ( if you are privately insured)..........Water Rates
Petrol.........House Insurance ( including House Insurance & Contents Insurance)........Car Insurance ( & NRMA Road Service)
Electricity........House Phone & Mobile Phone........Land Rates.
I don't need this but some of you might......School Fee's.......School Outings
Every family is different, so your list might be intirely different to mine....I hope you get the idea though.
You have to do some figuring out though, of what you need per year to cover these bills....then divide the amount into 52 weeks.
e.g. Land Rates $1200 per year divided into 52 = $ 23.07 per week...... Just another tip if you put $ 24.00 away per week......You will have a spare $48.36 in 1 year. & that's just from one envelope.
Over a 12 month period, what's left over from each envelope....could go towards a family holiday.
This method takes a few months, to start to work......what i would suggest is a envelope for a certain bill once you have paid the next bill.
I have found, that many a time we needed money for a emergency,, my envelopes have come in real handy. The only trouble then is paying back the envelope hehe!
