Infectious Hugs

nell18-3 by nell18-3 Young Parent(August 2007) (rank 1st)
There is a bug going around in my family

Its highly infectious

As soon as you catch it, there is no stopping

You just have to pass it on

Mind you, this a great bug to get

Because if you catch it you
know for sure you are loved!!!!

I Love Hugs
It makes me feel valued and it makes me feel loved

Its a shame that nowadays so many people do not know how to give a real hug

We know that Hugs work well if we are ill, in pain, upset about something, after all its part of our parenting skills to know when our child needs a Hug
But sometimes A Hug is also a great way to greet people we care about
My daughter and I are very "Huggy" no matter where we see each other when we meet up, the first thing we do is have a lovely Hug
Its a fantastic way to greet her
The message in the hug we give each other is that we love each other, we have missed each other and we are pleased to see each other
Too many times our teens feel uncomfortable showing their parents love in this way
But if they see it as part of their every day life, then it will always continue.

I wake up every morning to hugs with my boys and my daughter if she is here
Likewise at the end of every day, what better way to say Good night!

I am not saying that we should hug everyone we see, but those we care about....
Why should we be embarrassed to be seen giving a good friend for instance a hug in the street

I admit my parents and my brothers and I were never very into hugs growing up
But now, we greet each other regularly with a hug, or if someone is going away we give them a hug
Its our way of showing them how much we care.

My youngest will run out of school each afternoon and run up to where I wait and jump into my arms for a hug, its great!! he says he doesn't care what his friends say, he loves me and thats it
My 13 year old used to be the same, until he reached Senior School then he went through the inevitable stage of jumping in the car and if I reached for him I would get  " Not Here! Mum!!!" LOL
Nowadays he has gotten past that and he doesn't care again who sees.

Hugs are a wonderful way of showing our delight in each other

And we all know that Hugs are magic!!!!

They always make you feel better

Re: Infectious Hugs
We love hugs in our family; when I was at Uni and my brother was a teen and working in a shoe shop at weekends I would visit him at work on my few visits home, and he would always give me a massive hug - regardless of the shop being packed with people.  We still havea  hug when we see each other - as does E.
Peace

Re: Infectious Hugs
another great article,  hugs are infectious, in my family we always hug hello and good bye.  Makes you feel good when it is done on the spur of the moment for no reason.

Re: Infectious Hugs

I love hugs.......I hug everyone hello and I even hug them goodbye.....it's how I grew up! The first thing Zak does of a morning when he wakes up is come and give me a hug, then he gives his Dad a hug and then the boys give each other a hug. If I've been out of the house for a while, shopping or whatever, the minute I walk in the door the boys run up and give me a hug and vise versa with my husband........it's a great feeling and the look of love in their faces is priceless!!!

Well Done on a beautiful article Helen

My 15yr old every morning gives me a kiss and hug good bye before leaving for school as does my 13yr old daughter they do not care what their friends think either it feels so good when they do this as most teenagers willl not at all! Re: Infectious Hugs
Don't worry, if he still enjoys his night hugs Brodie will one day likely not worry about public hugs either, thats what happened to my 13 year old. He suddenly said he didnt care what others thought, he will now even hug me in the high street and its great

Re: Infectious Hugs

Oh I love a good hug, I'm one of those touchy, feely people so its kind of automatic with me, its amazing how many people are stiff to touch especially hugs, I have friends that feel like your hugging a cardboard figure lol such a shame, there is nothing better then the hugs from my kids and when my man walks through the door at the end of the day, getting a huge hug.......  Lets all Cyber hug........ ahhhh now isn't that nice xxxx
