Need to get rid of out grown clothing and shoes? |
|
|
Here are some ideas and explanations on how you can get rid of the out grown clothing and shoes.
- Have a garage sale once every 6 months, and don't sell the clothing for too much. People won't pay that much for second hand clothing.
- If you're in a mothers group, have a swap about every 3 months or 6 months and put it all on a table in the middle of the room or against a wall, and have a coffee or what ever, and then sort out what clothing you would like to take home, and the clothing etc that's not taken, then at the end of the year, have like a stall and the money will be to put back into the mothers groups to buy like coffee, tea cakes etc.
- Put them onto freecycle. This is a great way to get rid of your unwanted clothing. There's always very gratefull people who are after clothing for free, especially if it's children clothing.
- Take them to op shops. They are always in need of clothing, shoes etc of any age. I always take the households clothing to op shops, and sometimes i buy alot of the clothing etc aswell from there. cheap and easy way to shop these days, and i'm never ashamed either to shop in one.
If anyone else has any ideas, please feel free to input your advice. Hope this has helped some one out there.

Re: Need to get rid of out grown clothing and shoes?
When my son was a baby, I had a wonderful baby shower, he out grew every thing quickly. On Tuesdays, we'd go to a play group for babies to 3 years, and then after to the local beach where the kids could play and run around. One year, I didn't have a garage sale and wanted to get rid of stuff. I brought a couple of big spreads, and had all clothing, toys, whatever, and was at the park for a couple of hours.....most was gone when time for afternoon nap. no hassle of yard sale...I don't like to bicker about price....Quite right about marking to a low price first!
Take care, Simba1

Re: Need to get rid of out grown clothing and shoes?
I'm really bad.....my dear son is 11 years, and still have baby toys, cloths, and his highchair! There were just some things which were too special, filled with memories, that I have to keep. In a craft article, one of those 2" thick frames, the clothing would get cut to fit, then a picture added for the same time, or maybe even in the outfit. Another, a quilt of patches, cuttings from all clothing, filling, then a solid background if you are handy with a needle.
Take care, Simba1
