Rashes and nappy rash

Anonymous Author (September 2007)
When Charlotte was a baby I was using Zinc and castor oil for her nappy rash (she was a summer baby). One particular time the Nappy rash got so bad it started to bleed but I continued to use the Zinc and castor oil. I did this
until my Mum saw the rash, she took me down to the Chemist and $22 later I bought Lucas Paw Paw ointment. I started using this and within the week the rash went away and immeadeately stopped bleeding in a day.

Now this ointment is old and 3 years later I do still have just under half a tub. I had this used on me as a child. You can buy this just about any where from woolies to coles most chemists and health food shops. You can get it in a 200g tub that is about $23 and 25g tube for lips and bites from about $5 and the 75g tub for about $10.

I still use this a lot. When the kids get bites I use it on them. At the moment Alex has a rash on his legs due to his bed wetting and It helps that, I used it while breast feed for cracked nipples. a little of this goes a very long way as it is like a barryer cream.

I hope this help any of you that are having nappy rash troubles, cracked nipples and cracked lips.

Oh and it smells yummy to.

Thanks for sharing what works for you. Sometimes one remedy might work well for someone but not another, so it's always good to know a lot of remedies for diaper rash for future use.

My son had a bad diaper rash when he was younger. It was so bad, he was crying on his bath when his butt touched the water.
