"Clearing Your Watchlist"

                                                  I realise most members  are computer  savvy!   I'm hoping this advice, will help some members, who like myself....last December 2006...was new to the computer age and all it's working's.

Not   understanding  the importance of clearing my watchlist, til a month ago.  When on minti...I found it was taking a long time to open,  the many sections of minti.  So on advice from another minti member, to clear my  watchlist....I set about doing just that!

I clicked on my "Watchlist",  which is to found, at the "Top Right of your Homepage".....in the "Orange Coloured Block"

Nothing happened.....I was told to be patient!    Twenty minutes later,, up popped all these subjects....."Hundreds of them"  ( 8 months worth)

There  were 2 signs of the right of the page ....1) "Clear Watchlist".......2) "Configure Watchlist"

Clicking on "Clear Watchlist"  another box   appreared saying   " Click OK to clear all items, from your Watchlist"......another click later, I sat patiently waiting, for something to happen.    An hour passed and nothing happened.

"Patience is a Virture I know".....I pressed to go back a page   and waited 20 minutes for my Watchlist to appear, once more.

I proceeded to click on the words "Unwatch" to each individual subject.......This is where you need patience with a capital "P"

For me, it took quiet a few minutes,  for   a blue sign to appear, saying "Successfully Unwatched". You can imagine 8 months of Watchlist.

This took me most of the day to clear.....but as I was getting to the last hundred or so subjects.....the process became quicker.

Now i make a habit to clear my Watchlist every few days. It made such a difference to the speed, to which sections opened on minti.

This process worked for me.  I'm hoping this will help, newcomers to the computer age....which can be very daunting,  not understanding the  importance of doing certain procedures.

I  also have no doubt, there isn't an easier way of doing this.....maybe other minti members, could shed some light on t his subject, also!
