I was thinking about when I was pregnant with my boys, and remembered how much I used to love reading up on my babys development for that particular week. One thing Ive noticed is I cant seem to find a pregnancy timeline anywhere on Minti, so I thought Id do
some research from various sources and make one of my own. I want to make it clear that due to copyright restrictions I have not directly cut and pasted or copied anything from websites or books, but have read it and re-written it in my own wording from what I have learnt. All credits will go to the corresponding websites, books and magazines at the bottom of the page, where I have gotten my information from. If anyone feels that I have breached copyright in any way, please let me know. Cheers, and enjoy your reading!
Your pregnancy from 9 to 12 weeks:
By 9 weeks you will most probably be completely excited about being pregnant. The tiredness is starting to go away, and the nausea is starting to ease. You wont look much different to the people around you, but you may notice your breasts are starting to get bigger, and the lower part of your stomach is slowly getting a bit bigger. You may go up a dress size soon in the waist. How exciting! Your baby has toes now too, how cool is that!
By week 10 - 11 all your babys critical organs have formed. Although you wont be able to feel it, baby will now be moving around flailing its arms and legs, and learning lots of little summersaulty circus tricks! Its face is starting to take form now, and by week 12 your baby is now known as a foetus.
Your baby's sex organs have begun to form, so that if you were to look at the baby now you could tell if it was a he or a she.
Your uterus is too large to remain in your pelvis now, and almost overnight you will notice that you are now obviously pregnant. Still, most people wont be able to notice unless you wear skin-tight clothing, but you may notice a slight bulge where before there wasnt one!
It is around this time that you will start to notice that you feel a bit more hotter than usual. This sux in summer but can come in handy if you are having a winter pregnancy. Its like you have a built in hot water bottle! This is caused by all the extra blood circulating around your body now.
Your baby weighs about 14g and is around 8cm long. You can see when the baby is moving when you go for an ultrasound, it doesnt look like a blob on a screen anymore.
