instead of chemicals, use stuff from ur pantry!

goodie by goodie Talking(September 2007) (rank 262nd)

In recent years people have been looking for other alternatives to the usual chemically laiden products on the market. It is quite disturbing to see the amount of chemicals that we have in our houses without thinking about it. I didn't really think much about this until I had my son, I dont want him so be exposed to every chemical know to man.

So here are a few ideas that I have heard of using instead of (or if you need a quick fix and have run out) chemicals. Some of them are a little bizarre but apparently they work. Well its worth a try anyway.

The most versatile thing that I can think of is white vinegar. My mum has been using this ever since I can remember for all sorts of things around the house aswell as cooking. She always used to soak new cloths in vinegar and cold water to fix the colours so they didn't run. She mopped the floor with it. You can also use it to get stains out of things like clothes or carpet. It will also kill odour producing bacteria so you can splash it under your arm pits so they aren't so smelly.

Lemon juice can be used as a bleach for hair or if you have stains on chopping boards. It will take the smell of fish off your hands too if you've been handeling fish a lot.  it helps relieve dinosaur elbows (dry, scaly) just make a paste fromlemon juice and bakeing soda and rub it on.  it will also stop cut apples going brown.

Shortening (fat) can be used as make up remover. So will sorebelen moisteriser.

Peanut butter can be used to get chewy out of hair, just rub it in until the gum comes out.

For emergency shaving cream you can use butter on wet skin, it will leave ur legs lovely and soft.

You can use mild yellow mustard to sooth and stimulate skin but be sure to test that your not sensitive first.

crushed up asprin and water in a paste will dry up pimples. leave it on for a couple of minutes and wash off. takes away the redness and sting.

A splinter can be removed using a peice of tape (probably packing tape). if you dond fell like diggin a crater in you hand, just put a peice of tape over it and leave it on for 3 days, when you take the tape off the splinter should come away with it.

another thing that will take odours out of your skin is coffee beans. when rubbed together they realise oil which absorbs the smell.

Mayonaise can be used as a hair conditioner.

small peices of glass can be picked up using white bread.

you can polish shoes with bannana peels.

a mixture of 2 tbs vodkadishwashing liquid and watercan be used to kill weeds as it dries them up when the sun hits them.

Put dried Kidney beans into a sock and microwave them to make a heat pack.

There are many many more things but your probably sick of readying this already so if you want to know if i have any others feel free to minti  mail me. ok thanx for reading.

good luck
