Question:
Hi, i missed my period, i got my period Aug 31 2007. still haven't got my period.
when should i have pregnancy test. pls help me.
My Advice:
The
earliest test for pregnancy can be detected in blood within 48 hours of conception its done by blood testing and can be quiet expensive, most people opt for the over the counter test. You can buy test kits at a supermarket without a prescription.
Most of these tests look for the presence of the hCG or human chorionic gonadotropin in the urine, hCG can be detected in urine after implantation, which occurs up to twelve days after conception altho most tests are not accurate untill you have missed a period, so with in a few days of missing a period you should get an accurate result.
The result will be either negative or positive, false negative readings usually occur when testing is done too early so its best to wait until a day after your perios is due. If your result reads positive its best to see a doctor or midwife and be tested and examined to confirm the test result.
There are different types of thests available some can detect pregnancy earlier then others, there are plenty of websites advising on which tests to use, this is a good one I found - http://www.medicinenet.com/pregnancy_test/article.htm
