Coping with a Crying Baby.

cazza by cazza Talking(October 2007) (rank 29th)
Coping with a Crying baby can be frustrating and irritating, and some times you wonder if it is ever going to end...  Babies cry for a reason, and dont do it to annoy us or for attention...  Below is some ideas to help you when your baby is crying...

.Meet your babys needs, with feeding, changing, and bathing,...
. Check to make sure bub hasnt got a fever, or is teething, and adminster medicine when needed....  If in doubt call your local doctor or parent
  help line...

. Cuddle and rock your baby,- as much as others say you make a rod for your back doing this, its what is best at the time for you and bub....

.Put Your baby in the stroller or car and go out.....
. If you have a rocker or baby swing put bub in that, and rock it gently..
. Swaddle your baby in a warm blankie. and make sure he/she is comfortable and secure..
.
Check to make sure there clothes or socks aint too tight, and that bub isnt too hot or cold...
. Play your music loud, and vacuum around bub, as some like the stimulating noise....
.  Sing or talk Quietly to bub, and soothe them with the sound of your Voice,.,..
. Given them a bathe and helps them relax as well..

If it is too much, and you need time out, leave bub in their room, and go out side for a few moments..

Make your self a cuppa and ring a friend or close relative....

Never let pride get in the way to ask for help, and remember you are only human and everyone has being through it at one stage of there lifes...

Have time for you, and remember there is services out there to help....

take care

Re: Coping with a Crying Baby.

Good advice. It is so hard when new babys cry. For a new mum I had lots of troubles. Mine was just overtired, she has always hated sleeping so seeing if they are tired is another one!

I especially like your last paragraph, well written! Thanks!

Re: Coping with a Crying Baby.

Hmmmm - I am thinking that I must be a freak!!
I've never had probs with understanding with a baby was crying even when that baby was not mine!! I lost count at the amount of times I used to get calls at 1 or 2am from friends who were totally distraught with their bubs crying. I'd jump in the car (pj's still on) and arrive . . . .
For a while I earnt the name 'baby whisperer' which I thought was silly as everyone can do it they just have to listen . . .  I know that at times that can be hard and that is what friends and family are for . ..

Cheers Kellz

Re: Coping with a Crying Baby.
I read this earlier and I like it alot.  One thing I do with my babies is I stick them on my chest and pat their bottoms.  It always worked to quiet them and put them to sleep.
