Timed out and logged off? - edited and updated |

Have you ever written a long blog or comment and then clicked "add comment" to find you've timed out and been logged off? Did you loose all that work you just did? It's infuriating and drives me nuts as that has happened to me a lot. Although it hasn't
happened to me for a long time now, so I thought it was a problem solved and wasn't going to re-post this, but I just found a member's blog that it did happen to, so I'm reviving this advice as it seems to still be an occassional problem. There is hope! I figured out 3 ways around it.
Firstly, log back in. Then click "back" until you get to the page where your comment is typed up. Now if you click in the comment box it all vanishes, so don't do that. Just click "add comment" once you are back on line and it should save.
Or, go back to that comment page by clicking "back". Don't click in the comment box or it all vanishes! Just hold 'shift' and use the arrow keys to highlight it all. Then "copy" and "paste" it into a fresh comment box after you've logged back in. You'll have to re-type the title, but that's far better than losing a lot of writing you just spent 45 minutes on.
Or, everytime you've written something lengthy and labourious that you don't want to risk losing, before you click "add comment", highlight the content and 'copy' just in case it does disappear.
All these methods should work, I've used and tested them all, so which one you use depends on your preferance.
