With all the talk about getting babies to sleep through the night...

I cannot stress the value of a blanket such as the "SwaddleMe", that has velcro fasteners.  As a new parent, I didn't understand the importance of swaddling.  My husband and I learned quickly that a tight swaddle could make the difference between a 1-hour nap and a 4-hour
nap, but no matter how we tried, we could never keep our squirming infant in one.  The little "buritto", as we called him when we was swaddled, would always manage to wriggle an arm out.  And, as most of you know - loose swaddle = no swaddle.  Trying to re-do a swaddle at 2am is no picnic either.  We found our "salvation" at a baby store - CitiKids in San Francisco to be exact (though they sell them on Amazon too -, and were so pleased with it that we told everyone we knew and bought one for everyone who was expecting.  The sizing was perfect, it was made of warm, soft material, and multiple velcro areas made wrapping him tightly a breeze.  And - the best part - he never squirmed his way out.  I'm still convinced that he started sleeping through the night because of this thing.  Who knows.

DIY
Wrapping bub in a swddle will often not work but from birth till when they want to wriggle they need the tight feeling of being in the womb. Your solution souns perfect however I have not seen one yet with velcro but with my diy swaddle I do two hehe he will usually wear light clothing so two is perfect! with all ends at the back so bub's own body weight works against him

Love it!!!!
My son loves this.  He has always slept better when he's swaddled.  I'm sorta the same way.  I have my own quilt so I can wrap myself in it.  My husbands hates that but I sleep better.  Geoffrey always has either one or both arms out by morning.  Some nights lately, I've noticed he doesn't want to be swaddled then wakes up a couple hours later wanting to be.  I think he's that way because he spent so much time in the NICU and they swaddled him.

SWADDLING

I found waffle knit fabrics to be great for swaddling, as they stretch.  Zia looks like a loaf of bread all wrapped up, so she's stuck with the nickname of  Loafy

thats different
I don't think I ever saw on of those myself. I'm sure if I did, I would have boughten it though. My daughter never seemed to like being swaddled. She always found a way to get out of it, even if we re did it a thousand times, she would get out. I use a blanket now, to put up to her chest and she kicks it right off, she don't like to have anything on her, i mean nothing lol.

swaddle me

I've seen those but I never did try it myself. Matthew started squirming out of his swaddle when he was about 3 months old and no matter what I did and how tight I did it, he always managed to escape.

I like the nickname "buritto".. it's cute! I used "eggroll" for my son.
