Your baby is fully formed, although, at 6cm (2 ½ in) long, there is a lot of growing still to do. Its nails and hair are growing still. The vocal cords are beginning to form and when baby is born he or she will be using these as soon as
they are born to cry. All baby’s organs, structures and their systems are now fully formed.
Their eyes begin to move closer together you will soon see what colour they are when they are born but they will change up to when baby is a year old. Your baby is around 2.5cm – 3.5 inches or 5.4cm long which is just the average of a baby not the exacts. The genitals are now starting to show whether your baby is a boy or a girl although a ultrasound may not still be able to tell if it’s a boy or girl.
Their ears start to move to their place where they are supposed to be on their side of the head. The liver is starting to function which is for cleansing the blood and things like storing nutrients for the baby. Also the pancreas begins to produce insulin so that shows baby is getting healthy. Baby is still too small to feel it moving around it won’t be too much longer before you feel some movement in there.
Your morning sickness by now should be nearly gone or already gone. You may start to feel a little lightheaded or a few headaches here and there this is just getting into the stage of the second trimester and its all normal. This is because the increase in blood volume. Make sure if you are experience any of these symptoms to discuss it with your midwife or doctor so that they can rest assure everything is ok. So don’t be scared to mention anything that maybe bothering you.
Your Uterus is beginning to move forwards as it grows so it can take the pressure of your bladder and you have probably notices you are taking less trips to the toilet at the moment. Now if your not taking any Vitamins for pregnancy you should really consider taking them as you need them for baby and yourself. Also if your are having problems sleeping try getting a body pillow this will help take the pressure off, its also nice to cuddle up to and quite comfortable.
