Traveling with toddlers

mrs-connell by mrs-connell Speaking(November 2007) (rank 500+)

Hi All,

I'm writing this piece of advice because I think it might help people who intend to travel long distance with their young children.

We moved interstate about 3 months ago & wasn't sure how our daughter (2 & 1/2 at the time) was going to handle

being in the car for that long, so I suggested to my husband that we get a portable DVD player & see how she will go before the big move.

I brought one & it was the best investment I ever made.

Our daughter watched all her DVD's & not once did she play up or complain that she wanted to get out of the car.

If you make regular stops so everyone can stretch their legs & get some fresh air you all should have a very pleasant trip.

I would definitely recommend getting a portable DVD player. They come in sizes from 7 inch screen up to 10 inch screens. Some come with a games control that you just plug into the TV unit or DVD player.

They vary in price, I just brought a brand new duel screen (2 screens) 7 inch with game controller (built-in games) for $230.00

Also remember on any long trip STOP, REVIVE, SURVIVE!!!!!!!!

Hope this helps & happy travelling

We have been thinking of purchasing a portable DVD player as one of our children is often car sick and the games we play in the car don't seem to help , , ,

Cheers Kellz
