If you have just found out you are pregnant now is the time to see your doctor or midwife to arrange ante-natal care.
Your in your thirteenth week or should I say at the beginging of your forth month and your probably starting to actually look pregnant!
Possibly from here on in you may experience the following;
- morning sickness,
- fatigue,
- tender breasts,
- urinary frequency.
- feeling flushed due to your blood supply being increased.
- constipation, due to and increase in the hormone progesterone,
- sleeplessness (try a glass of warm milk or a warm bath before bed... works wonders)
- Gum Problems, due to increase in your blood flow. increasing your vitamin c may help.
- Headaches and lightheadedness. (due to the increase in blood volume or lack of protein.)
- abdominal pain (due to the ligaments around your uterus stretching to accomadate its growth)
On the up side some womens morning sickness and other symptoms may start to ease now.
Remember whilst pregnant you cannot have xrays done and you will need to ask your doctor or midwife before taking ANY medication. Drinking alcohol and taking drugs are also NOT recommended as they will harm your babys develpopment.
Many women have their first antenatal appointment between 9 and 12 weeks, If you have not already done so you need to book it in ASAP.
You should also arrange to book in for your Morphology scan/ Ultrasound for the 18 - 20 weeks mark. This is when you may be able to find out if your having a boy or a girl, and they will check the development of your baby. Most places book weeks in advance so get in early!
Your baby can now probably move! flexing its little arms and legs. Its fingerprints will now begin developing and there will be 20 little baby tooth buds forming. The vocal cord will begin developing and ribs will also being to take shape. Your baby will now be about 7 centimeters long and weigh about 23 grams. If your having a baby girl she will have around 2 million eggs in her ovaries and by the time she is born that will decrease to around 1 million...
Only 27 weeks to go...
