Being careful

kiwikylie79 by kiwikylie79 Speaking(December 2007) (rank 211th)

Hi all I know that the advise im abot to write may sound like nothing but I just want to let ppl know ok so here I go.

On Sunday the 23rd of dec I went to my home and did wat I normally do which is have my sister call out to my pup @ the gate.

He did not come so we ran through the house and I called him and called him wen he finally came

I found that he had his head tilted and that he was all muddy wen he got closer to me he was bleeding EVER so badly.

He had been attacked by a MUCH bigger dog in his own bk yard.

I then wrapped him and took him to my mums the whole way there I was so scared that he would die in my arms as he was in a

REAL bad way. Wen I got to my mums she told my sister to call the ranger.

Wen the ranger came he took cody (thats was my pups name) away to put him to sleep .

It was the hardest thing the reason I am writing this is bc after I had settled down and all I thought to my self that could have been one of my kids.

My advise is NO MATTER how tall ur fence is as mine is tall PLEASE dont think that large dogs can not get in to attack ur pets or even ur kids.

I hate the idea that it had happened to cody who wasnt even 1 yr old yet but on the other hand I am glad it wasnt my kids.

PLEASE be careful.

Kylie

Re: Being careful
sorry to hear about your much loved family pet, Cody.
There have been several attacks here with dogs, but the sad thing is, they are hurting children and their owners, not other dogs!
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Cheers

Re: Being careful

im sorry about your pup.

this happens to a friend of mine all the time her neighbours dog jumps the fence and its not a big dog but the fence is quite high and he still gets over, i have told her before to be careful about this as it could happen to her kids so i know exactly what you are talking about, she isnt very careful when it comes to her kids she pretty much lets them run wild so i guess she wont listen to me i just hope this thing never happens to her boys and that she starts to take it seriously as it could be fatal

great advice and again im sorry for your pup

Re: Being careful
Sorry about Cody. Great advice. We have big fences all around the back yard but a rottweiler managed to get in several times. Lucky he was very friendly & just licked my little jack russel.

Re: Being careful
hi there,

I am so sorry to hear about Cody but your story is a reminder to us all . . Many parents assume that because their yard is fenced that it is safe. This is not always the case, thanks for the reminder . .

Cheers Kellz
