Pregnancy Diaries - week 37

Ravenheart by Ravenheart Talking(January 14th) (rank 77th)

Well as I near the end of week 37 Im getting more anxious to meet my little bundle of joy!

Im running on empty at the moment as the pregnancy induced insomnia has kicked in. Its normal to find it hard to sleep at this stage and there are things you can do to help ease it. So far I have found warm baths and lavender oil work best.

From here on in I could go into labour at any moment, The midwife told me to have my labour / hospital bag and the baby bag ready in to boot of my car.

Things I have packed for my self are -

  • Camera
  • Coins for the payphone , most hospitals dont let u use mobile phones
  • massage oil
  • 2 pairs of pjs
  • 2 breastfeeding / maternity bras
  • a weeks supply of undies
  • nursing / breastfeeding pads
  • 1 pack of maternity pads and 2 packs of normal pads
  • slippers
  • toiletries
  • clothes to come home in

Things i have packed for bubs -

  • Nappies
  • wipes
  • nappy sacks
  • baby wash / shampoo
  • baby powder
  • cotton buds
  • singlets
  • growsuits
  • blankets
  • socks n mittens
  • hat

I feel alot less stress now that i have everything ready to go. The car seat should be installed in your car by now too if you have one. I have been driving around with mine in my car for weeks lol.

Being eager to have this baby I asked the midwife about ways to naturally induse labour, she basically said there is no sure fire way to do it, but at around 39 weeks she said the castor oil trick works in 90% of women she knows. She also said drinking raspberry leaf tea will only cause Braxton hicks, which does help but u will need to drink it every day for up to a week before it will have any reall effect. walking and sex also help bring bubs along but like most people say they come when they are ready and usually when u least expect it...

I have been preparing some meals that I can freeze so when bubs comes life will be a bit easier, things like cassaroles, the bolognaise for spaghetti. This is going to help seeing as i will have 3 kids to look after soon!

My next midwife appointment is in a week, Ill be nearing the end of my 38th week by then so if i havent had bub yet, ill write up the 38th week of my pregnancy.

hope this helps mums 2 B....
