in a way he can say slowly get him to say the right word .As she told me sound cute at the time know she having to make him repeat the word over and over know he starting say the right word

My advice to you is get them started on the right way of saying words as soon as you can

Re: it may help

Hi

Bear in mind with this the new research says not to inhibit their creative development

When they say a word incorectly never say that is wrong. Just simply say the word how it is meant to be said and give them a go.

Although i must admit swear and your child will say it very clearly

Also with your advice to pick up the ratings use a bit of punctuation.

This is a little hard to read and would be fantastic to see it edited and expanded

You are going to think i'm picking on your articles.  Lol

I just don't want to see any new mum or anyone for that matter missing out on good advice becuase it is too hard to read. We all have busy days and if somehting is difficult at all we tend to brush over what could be awesome stuff

Luv Deb

I agree. It's much better to teach the correct pronounciation from the very beginning rather than later, as this would only confuse the child. It doesn't mean we have be anal and contiually make them pronounce the word the correct way, but just repeating the word correctly is enough. This way the child hears it often.

Re: it may help

I made sure with all of mine that I said the right words and made them try and say them. But then I am not one for making sounds at children or saying silly things. It really annoys me when my mother does it but I always corrected my kids at home. eg: Would you like milky? or schooly cooly, or widdle-woos or poopa doopers. These are things my mum says to the kids and I just cringe.

Re: it may help

Good article! My daughter is starting to talk up a storm! Mostly she still signs the word, and points and says UGGGGHHHHHNNN. which drives me nuts! I hate that sound!!! lol

I used say "drink" about 50 thousand times a day. I don't give her the cup until she makes an effort, because I know she can say it (because i'm mean mommy, which, big surprise she can say perfectly clear! lol). slowly she's saying it sooner... i think im down to about 10 thousand "drink"s a day now.
