FAMILY DAY CARE

electrifying02 by electrifying02 Talking Back(January 2008) (rank 131st)

FAMILY DAY CARE

My children are in day care 3 times a week to give me a break and it is cheaper then a every day child care . it is based at someones house and they have limited children and the best thing i like about it is

that i get to make my childs lunch and drinks . so you know what your child is eating .

Family Day Care is a council - sponsored child care program funded by the commonwealth department of family and comunity serices . family day care is aged for chilren up to 12 years of age and they are looked after in a house in your own home. like my childrens day care is five house down .

council staff resource , train and support care providers who are able to earn an income while at home . family day care provides a stimulating home enviroment for children , with care being provided for small groups of children in the care providers home (maximum four children under school age or a total of seven including school age children . the service also provides the opportuntity for you and your children to develop a close relationship with your care provider .

in family day care the hours are normally worked around your hours .family day care may be available on weekends or over night if the care meets the specific eligibility requirments , types of care provided is fulltime partime and casual , care for children of shift workers , before and after school care .

councils family day care co ordination unit will assist families to choose the right care provider tpo suit your needs.

the commonwealth govement provides asstitance with fees to eligible families through the child care benfit ccb system to ensure family day care is affordable .

so if you cant afford normal child care maybe ring your local council and see if you can find on close by

Re: FAMILY DAY CARE

Family Day care can be a real sanity saver especially after having a new baby. It provides an added bonus to my active toddlers growth and gives him more experiences than I can provide.

Re: FAMILY DAY CARE

I am starting family day care as soon as I get a bigger house, I dont want to go back to work and pay for Katelyn to be in full time, I hold a diploma of childrens services early childhood, so I will have no problem getting a job they are getting very strict these days with who they choose to be carers, and do a lot more spot checks.

ALL FOR FAMILY DAY CARE...

Re: FAMILY DAY CARE

i don't like the idea of family day care BECAUSE the family day care children can range from babies right up to children of 6 yrs of age and to me, this just isn't good enough, because the child doesn't get the same type of quality care as what they would in a proper childcare centre.... some may disagree but this is just my opinion!

It may be cheaper and all.... but you get what you pay for!

Re: FAMILY DAY CARE

in the US a home day care provider may be cheaper but a child care center or preschool is safer and usually better quality. In home day care here it is one woman with many children different ages. At a center there are 2 or more teachers in a room and the children are playing and working alongside children their own age. Also sometimes it is hard to imagine what goes on behind closed doors at a home day care but in a center there are many windows and teachers and other classrooms and directors and assistants so monitoring is constantly going on. But then again a home day care provider is cozier and more like home if you find a loving person. Just thought I would give my oppinions on how it looks around here on this matter is anyone from the US is reading this.

Nice article.

Re: FAMILY DAY CARE

Great article Bel,

I love Family Day Care as it is far more personal than the bigger centres. There are far more positives I believe to Family Day Carers than to the bigger Centres.

Cheers Kellz
