I know this probably should be in House hold tips but these are everyday tips that I have found be quite useful and also less stress around the home.
The Washing
- I hate folding and I did used to do it but got frustrated with the
kids just pulling everything out of their draws anyway so now I do it this way.I went and bought 6 plastic washing baskets for about $3.00 each I have 4 children ranging from 7 to 15 so this is why I bought 6 so they each have a basket although my 2 youngest share a basket and so do my husband and I also share.I just line the baskets up and sort them into piles for each children and then when they get home from school they have to put it in their draws,my daughter usually folds hers (13) and I do fold my husbands and mine as he dosent like them unfolded in the draws.I know it sounds lazy but less stress on me when there draws are messy anyway because they have just pulled their clothes all out.
- The bath /shower
We put in a new shower down stairs 12 months ago and I decided I wasn't going to use soap in the new shower ,instead I use shower gel and then decided to use the gel in all 3 bathrooms.it is amazing how much it makes a difference instead of having to clean the baths/shower every week I now have to do it every 3 weeks as the soap scum doesn't build up like cakes of soap does and no more yucky soap stuck to the bath.The other thing I do in the new shower is when I am in the shower I turn on the tap to all hot and hose down the shower door with hot water,I have a shower head that is on the wall and can be removed which makes this easy but I guess a container for that purpose would also work.My mother also put in a shower around the same time as us and my shower always looks cleaner and fresher then hers as she uses normal soap.Yet she probably cleans hers more often then me.
I hope these tips may help others around the house ,more time to spend with our little darlings ,instead of doing all those jobs we hate.
