Some fun for Easter

dannii17 by dannii17 Talking Back(February 2008) (rank 94th)

Hey well i just thought id write an article on some fun things families can do for easter.

1. Easter egg hunt- Easter eve once kids are in bed set up a little easter egg hunt.If the kids are young then just trail eggs around the house but remember

to put a basket at the start to collect all the eggs in also make you get up before the kids do or there will be chocolate everywhere. You can make the hunt inside or outside.

2. With the Easter egg hunt you can also get your children to decorate there own baskets the night before. You can buy little baskets then 1. glue on cotton wool all around the basket, 2. Cut out ears out of white paper or felt and colour the inside of the ear with pink, 3. A little bit of pink paper for the nose and black for the eyes and you can use pipecleaners to make the mouth.

3. Decorating eggs- Now this can be a little tricky and take time but its worth the fun. What you do is get an egg and try to poke a pin hole through the top of the egg and slowing dain its contents.. Now ive seen you get patterns that you stick on and when you peel them off the ink has stained and leaves the pattern.I think it would be much more more fun to get some little paints and let the kids paint there eggs,or like my mum use to do with us was let us do it with crayons. Its good too put a gloss over the top and they come up looking beautiful and they are a great keep sake. Also My something my bf's family ahve doen for years is to boil the eggs in dye, then once cooled down and before the family starts eating an Easter lunch 2 people at a time grab an egg and crack them on top of eachothers, the persons whos doesnt crack is suppose to have good luck.

4. Make your own choccies- All you need is moulds, you can always find these in $2shops and things and can get all differnet designs such as eggs, bunnies ect.Just melt cooking chocolate and pour it in the moulds and put in the frinde to set,you can also put some sprinkles in th emoulds before you add the chocloate to make them look a little more interesting.

Well i hope this gives parents some ideas for things to do for Easter, they are all fun things to do.If anyone has an other ideas feel free to add them in.

Dannii xxo

Re: Some fun for Easter

every easter my pop cooks boiled eggs and draws smiley faces on them and then we have them for brekky.... he gets real enjoyment out of doing it.

I am thinking of making my own miniature chocolates in the shape of eggs and bunnys this yr as i do have moulds... though i doubt i will have the time as easter is a big 2 weeks after i have my 2nd bubba....so might be next yrs job!

Thanks for sharing wonderful ideas with us all!
