I recommend The Berenstain Bear book on Stranger Danger for those of you who are broaching this topic with your kids. It is writtne in a way that is understandable and not alarmist. It gives kids a good context.

If your children are familiar with the

bears it makes it that much more approachable. My five year old often picks this one out as his bedtime reading.

It received 4.5 stars on Amazon

Not that you have to get it on Amazon - the library is a great place to sample these kinds of books.

will try and get tis book, My son is 6 and a loving sensitive soul and it scares the hell out of me. I try and explain that people are not all nice but he just does not think that a person who looks friendly could possibly be bad....
