My 'minor ailment' cures.

loopylisa by loopylisa Talking(March 2008) (rank 281st)

I have developed a taste for trying to treat myself for minor ailments and have had some success and some which definately has not worked-but we won't talk about that!I have sat and compiled my 'cures' to pass on to you, hope they work.

ALOE VERA- Can be used on

burns,sore gums(not babies),mouth ulcers and prickly heat.

GINGER-Good for stomach upsets, including morning sickness(I used to eat ginger biscuits),smelly wind-say no more and period pain-I don't think it was effective vey much in my case.

LAVENDAR OIL-Lavendar can be used in numerous ways,it can help anxiety,insomnia-try dropping lavendar oil on your pillow, headaches and burns.

TEATREE OIL-I have used this for headlice in my children-mix it with your normal shampoo and massage into the scalp, rinse as normal. It can be used for spots, fungal infections and insect bites. Be warned-it stings like mad on spots!!

WITCH HAZEL- My nan used this all the time for 'bringing out the bruise'. Can also be used to relieve itching and a rub for sore muscles.

NATURAL YOGHURT- I believe the best thing for sunburn. Smother on the affected area and wait for it to stink!! It's cooling and even better put on straight out of the fridge,as it cools the sunburn it will turn sour, but it works. It can also be used for thrush on a tampon or a sanitary pad.

Thanks for the great tips. I'll definately use these when the time is right, and the symptoms arise.
