Great article Cazza........more and more families are doing this lately, it's good to see. Luke isn't a huge chocolate fan so we always get the boys something else....but yes they still love the egg hunt, it wouldn't be Easter without the egg hunt.

good advice for people looking for alternative gifts!

our Easter is generally a get together for our families and we buy presents for the younger children, and of course the egg hunt!

Mine are usually spoilt enough with chocolate so I tend to get a nice DVD we can all watch over the Easter

Excellent advice. Our family get together for lunch every year and only buy a smallish present for the kids. We always have a egg hunt though, and when we've done with hunting, we all share in the chocy, That way we don't eat too much!! I also make a point to talk to the kids about why we have Easter in the first place.

Yeah, iv'e done most of these for my kids, like given them a toy, soaps, towels, etc, and only a couple of easter eggs. This advice will definately benifit alot of people Cazza. Thanks heaps for sharing the great tips with us.

Thanks for your great tips . . We tend not to buy chocolates t easter time and instead buy a small gift, my kids usually get winter pj's  etc . . The only chocolate thing we do is an egg hunt out the back with some small eggs (cadbury only) and we spend the rest of the day sharing with family and friends. For us Easter is a time to spend with family and friends . .
