Home Made Playdoh (Uncooked)

missnickley by missnickley Talking(March 10th) (rank 88th)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • dash of food colouring to add colour

Instructions:

  • Mix the flour, salt, and water in a bowl. Add a small amount of oil (this keeps the doh soft and supple).
  • Knead the play doh till reaches desired consistancy. Add a little more flour or water if necissary. Store in a plastic bag or airtight container when not in use.

Kids will also want to help make this reciepe and can help with the kneading. I like this reciepe because it doesnt involve cooking which is safer, faster and to me, easier!

This is an easy craft recipe to prepare and will provide your children with hours of entertainment. I love it, and you can add colour with some glitter, or food colouring, or even some paint! All the kids at playgroup love it and it is non-toxic so it doesnt matter if they eat it!

For when bubs was really young we also used to use jelly as play doh. She loved to squish it in her little hands and there was no choking hazard with the jelly.

Thank you! I can't wait to try this with my toddler. During Christmas I had him make those cinnamon ornaments with me, but he got frustrated because he wanted to lick his hands (it was a no-no due to the glue). I know he'll love this!

Thank you! I had to make playdoh once in a pan and cook it and it went all dry and horrible! Any recipe that doesn't involve cooking is good by me!
