food colouring!!!

rissa1112 by rissa1112 Speaking(March 20th) (rank 500+)

when my son was younger and we swapped him from a bottle to a sippy cup at night he always wanted juice or any thing that wasnt water so we added a drop of food colouring to his water (just enough to change the colour) and he didnt know any different it is also better on his teeth .i also use food colouring for other things such as bath water (he loves blue baths) and in mashed potato and icing of cakes it really does work

Re: food colouring!!!

I used the food colouring trick with my 1st child, as she to wouldn't drink anything unless it was coloured.... 2nd and 3rd love water and always have, so there was never any need to do it for them.....

I have used it in the bath also, also you can buy coloured bath tablets from the chemist....

thanx for sharing your info with everyone....

Cheers

Re: food colouring!!!

just another thought....

I guess you would have to make sure you child is tolerant to food colourings.... I never had problems, but a friend of mine, her little boy couldn't have green colouring....

Also some more info, my friend had also mentioned that green colouring is many times worse than red.... if your child has an intolerance to colouring....

Re: food colouring!!!

Good idea! Does the bath leave him or the towels blue? However, I thought I was onto a winner with this when I made the fairy cakes pink last week - DD1 wouldnt eat them "they're supposed to be YELLOW!" she wailed! Kids, eh?
