sore bums

HeadNotMyOwn by HeadNotMyOwn Speaking(March 2008) (rank 500+)

Re: Yeast Infection..?
Asked by allyp

Question:

I know babies can get yeast infections and I think my daughter may have it.
It's really sore on her bum area (because it had spread) and it's spotted red dots and sometimes bleeds..

Am I able to use a yeast infection cream on her? Like Canesten? Or just keep using Penaten cream for diaper rash (even though i'm pretty sure it's not a diaper rash no more)

My Advice:

hi there

i def would recomend canesten as i have used it on the last 3 of my 7 babies. I would also recommend u try egg white i used this with all 7. my children were and are all prone 2 very sore bums when they are teething the blood can be running from their bottoms and they b in such pain. Having tried numerous creams from doc's i deceided 2 give my granny's remendy a go which is the egg white.

put in a container and keep in fridge as well as having healing properties the coolness sooths their bum. Just rub on and let it dry b4 putting the nappy back on. 4 me it worked after 2-3 apps.

hope this is of some help.Karen x

Re: sore bums

My son has the same problem where his little bottom is so red and raw that its bleeding, I have been applying papaya cream all day and has cleared it up by 50%.....  Egg white I have heard of and just looked it up on google, yes it has been used but with salmonella and the chance of infection it is not recommended.....  Go to the Chemist and ask what they suggest or your Doc x

my wife and i would advise you to take your bub along to the dr asap, especially with a bleeding butt. Canestan and egg white are no good if the bub has a more serious infection. A bleeding butt would indicate a bit more than thrush.

Re: sore bums

Was going to say that. I've never heard of using egg white's on a baby's bottom for a rash. Straight to the doctors so they can prescribe some better healthier treatment.
