Im always curious to try out new brands of disposable nappies that are on the market. Especially when they are eco-friendly.
So I thought Id take the trouble out of umming and arring about these new nappies and write a review on them.
Firstly Id just like to
say congratulations to Marlene Sandberg from Sweden for designing a nappy that is friendly to our environment.
Wherever possible, they use all natural materials, and I found it quite interesting to read that the absorbent part in the middle is actually made of corn. Who would have thought!
The outer layer, however, feels kinda wierd to touch, but I found that with other eco-friendly brands as well.
The nappy sits rather slim and non-bulky when worn, and doesnt puff up quite as much as other brands.
They are quite avaragely priced, and I didnt find them to be too expensive for a pack of 32 nappies.
One down side though, is one night it took 2 bottles of milk for my son to go to sleep. About 2hrs later, he woke up crying because he was covered in a pool of urine. Those are not very good odds when you want a nappy to last all night.
On the up-side, the nappy has won silver prize in the mother and baby awards for 06/07, it also won highly commended, and in Junior Pregnancy and Baby these nappies were selected ''Editors Choice."
They also have many other things in their range including baby wipes, disposable bibs, cotton buds, breast pads, baby toiletries (shampoo, lotions etc) nappy crems and even women's sanitary items. Every last product of theirs is environmentally friendly, and I have made it my mission to switch to their other brands next time I go shopping.
In all I'd probably give Nature Babycare disposable nappies a 3 out of 5. Im yet to find a nappy that can beat Huggies, but give it another 6mths or so for them to research new technologies and materials, and I think Huggies are gonna have a great challenge on their hands.
