I am not really sure if this advice will be allowed, but indirectly it comes under being a better parent.... So I am hoping it is allowed
We as parents always take our child(ren) for checkups etc when we even suspect they are sick. I know I do........
Why is it we neglect ourselves? My advice is NOT to ignore ourselves.
What has prompted me to write this you ask? Well here is my story (or rather my other half's):....
Hubby had a spot on his back and we had it removed. Horror of all horrors the pathology results came back and it is an active melanoma.
This Tuesday he has to go and have it removed and he has to have this ultrasound like procedure to see how far it has spread. They are not even using the words "if it has spread" anymore, it is a question of "how far it has spread".I guess like a lot of adults I was niave in thinking just how bad melanomas are. I had no idea it can travel to your organs, brain, anywhere really.
I am so scared and all I can think of is how do you tell a 3 year old that dadd is no longer here???? I hope and pray it doesn't come to that.
So my advice to be a better parent, is GET YOURSELF CHECKED IF YOU FEEL POORLY.........
