new drug in schools

veejay by veejay Walking(April 2008) (rank 500+)

this has come to my attention in W.A.

There is a new drug known as "strawberry Quick"

This is a very scary thing going on in the schools right now that we all need to be aware of.

There is a type of crystal meth going

around that looks like strawberry pop rocks ( the candy that sizzles and pops in your mouth)

It also smells like strawberry and it is being handed out to kids in school yards. They are calling it strawberry meth or strawberry quick.

Kids are ingesting this thinking that it is candy and being rushed off to the hospital in dire condition. It also comes in chocolate,

peanut butter, cola, cherry, grape and orange.

Please instruct your children not to accept candy from strangers and even not to accept candy that looks like ( in a plastic bag with a picture of a fruit in the front) this if they do see some please take immediatley to a teacher , principal etc

This has come to me via email from education dept and police depts

Re: new drug in schools

Yes this did the rounds last year on this site but it needed to be bought up again as drugs are becoming more redly available to the younger generation

thanks for the comments

Re: new drug in schools

As this came from a Western Australian Gov. police dept and forwarded to the Dept of Education and Training that this cannot  possibly be a hoax.

But thank you for your comments

ciao Vicki

Re: new drug in schools

This is largely a hoax.  You can read more about it on snopes:

http://www.snopes.com/horrors/drugs/candymeth.asp

It is scary to think of our grade-school kids beign hooked on hard drugs by strangers, but what is more likely to happen is that they'll be invited to use traditional recreational drugs first by their friends (alcohol, cigarettes, pot).
