Through the week there has been a lot of news on PBA in plastic bottles as I was not real sure about this I thought I would get on the net and have a look at what all the commotion was all about. As my friends had now gone
to glass bottles. A couple of weeks ago it was on Toady Tonight and on the ABC so I got on and had a look.
They are saying that the PBA in plastic bottles is very toxic and this has been shown in test they have done it can cause cancer and defects in children. Canada as of Friday have has band all the products that have PBA in it bottles, drinking bottles, there is 9 countries all up that have band it. Now that BPA is becoming more of a mainstream worry for families all over, companies are finally stepping out and letting us know if/what products contain BPA.
One thing that I've learned while I have been doing this reasearch is most products with BPA are the hard clear plastics. When you can't find a plastic code on the bottom there are numbers and numbers from 2-3-4-5-6-7- are the ones you dont touch. If the company hasn't ed you whether it contains PBA I'd go by this rule, "when in doubt, throw it out.
So as a worried mum I decided to change Hannah to glass bottles, then I was a bit worried about my TupperWare as it is plastic and I have heaps, I went into www.tupper ware.com and they have everything that is listed that carries PBA which isnt a lot so I was rapped as I lover tupperware.

Oh, and one more thing about this BPA issue (at least for now). If there isn't going to be a ban or recall of these products containing BPA, in Australia I think that all plastics with BPA or "undetermined" should have a warning label on it. If alcohol and cigarettes have a warning to inform consumers, why can't plastic?????????????????
Here are some sights that might help . Also the ABC has realy good inforamation.
