Bathing - what should I avoid?

mcm by mcm Young Parent(August 2006) (rank 2nd)
Young babies are not known for rolling in the mud, so they don't need a daily bath. When you do bathe them it is best to use gentle soap if neccessary.. Look for poducts that don't produce much foam and contain a short simple list of ingredients. Essential oil and fragrance
free is suggested. Sodium lauryl and laureth may have possible links to skin irritation and contribute to dry skin. Cocoamphodiacetate is an eye irritant and is best avoided.

Thank you
This is great thank you.  I was looking for this before she was born, thankfully she has incredibly good skin, so i didnt have to go searching afterwards, but each time i asked in the shops that I thought would know; boots, mothercare, etc they thought i was silly and rubbished me off with no info at all!  Ah well.  I know for next time.  Thank you
Peace

Fragrance Free

Stuff that are void of fragrance is the way to go in my house. My son suffers from eczema so I avoid a lot of stuff. He gets rashes from a lot of things enogh as it is, so I don't need to add perfume to the list.

I don't know if this is available outside the U.S., but I use Aquaphor Gentle Wash by Eucerine. It's soap free, tear free and fragrance free.

Body wash
I use Gerber Body Wash for hair and body. It works great and it's even hypoallergenic. I like it and it works great and smells good too
