Hi Everyone
I thought i would share this with you and hopefully it does help with privacy issues out there. Only a couple of days ago i learned that Google send out 'web crawlers' and take snapshots of your webpage which they use to help people do web searches.
Even though you may have deleted or edited your webpage, the old link will still be there which i have discovered.
Example 1:
A certain person who is harrassing my family has found out my new Minti account because i named her in one of my blogs. I then did remove her name a few days later but unfortunately a 'web crawler' had took a snapshot of my page before it got edited.
Example 2:
Old links to MINTI accounts still lie out there even though they have been deleted. I just had to type in my old MINTI name "Destiiny23" and it came up to my old MINTI account even though when you open it, it says 'account deleted' it still has my profile picture of my children there. Im sure there are alot of deleted MINTI accounts still out there.
Now the only way to do get rid of it which i found out is by requesting Google to delete it or notify them of that page. So i am writing down the steps i took to do this and hopefully it works out for you.
1. Log onto this Link which takes you to Google Webmaster Tools:
www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin
2. You will have to create an account to do this, which is pretty easy to follow there steps. You can use your existing email account.
3. You will then be taken to this screen:
www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals
I chose the first one "Information or images that appears in Google search results" then press Next
4. The next screen I picked
"The site owner has removed this page/image from the web or blocked it by being indexed" to use on Example 2
"The site owner has modified this page so that it no longer contains the information or image that concerns me" to use on Example 1
5. Now depending on which one you pick, all you need to do now is note down the URL of the site. To do that you.
a. Open a new window/Tab on your browser.
b. Then type in the google search toolbar eg, Destiiny23 or I used the person's name .
c. When the search results appear, you right click on the title of the search that you want deleted/removed and press Copy.
d. Go back to the removal page and Paste the URL link in the "Webpage or Image URL" box
6. You then press "Submit Request"
They say it takes about 90 days for approval but what i have read up on some sites they say it can take a few hours to only a couple of weeks. Anyway, lets see how we go. Im still waiting for my results. Hopefully it does work out for you.
Thanks i hope i helped someone out there.
