Trust in teens

somernight by somernight Talking(May 2008) (rank 170th)

I keep telling my 15 year old I will trust her till she gives me reason not to.

My advise to all Parents that means Dad's to. Keep an open mind and open mouth allow your children to talk.

It might not be exactly what you want to

hear but it allows them to be open.

Don't over react     If they tell you something that makes you a little uneasy like they are talking to a boy  or something else

not to harsh  tell them you need 20min time out to think of what they just said. Then go back to the talk

If you respond with a negative they won't be open to tell you anything again.Open conversation is very important

however just remember the fine line between Parent and friend.

Re: Trust in teens

This is fantastic advice.

Listening is key throughout life, and when we teach our children to listen by listening to them we are equipping them with a special life skill.

Peace
