Teenagers Earn Money in Holidays

milko-fats by milko-fats Speaking(May 2008) (rank 374th)

My teenagers used to a month before school holidays get together with their friends, There would be 5 to 8 of them, They would get on the computer & make flyers to hand to neighbours & do a letterbox drop within 2 blocks of our house. They would offer their

services for such things as Baby sitting, gardening, Lawn mowing, Cleaning, Assisting in most anything also they give an estimate of what they have been paid before for services. The teens then would go door knocking a month before the holidays & let people know of their service & the dates available, They then ask the neighbours to write a list of things they feel they would like their services for & let them know they will be back in two weeks to collect the list & workout dates & times. They also allow the neighbours to workout fees they would like to pay. The teens then go home & get on the computer to make a roster. Then they work together through the holidays & earn some good money to save, or all go on a holiday together at the end of the year with an adult. What a great way to teach them to earn their own money & to learn to find work for thenselves, then also how to save. With them working in a team or atleast pairs I as a parent felt very safe & proud  of my entrepreneur's
